In addition to serving as the paper of record for most of the counties in which it operated, the company also published total market coverage products that are distributed free to each household in many of its markets. In total, Brown Publishing’s products reached over 1.6 million people and 680,000 households in 24 counties in Ohio.

Nicolet Capital’s President was actively involved with Brown Publishing’s board of directors for several years. Shortly thereafter, in 2006, a recapitalization transaction was consummated resulting in a successful full realization of the investment in the company
