President & CEO, Pretium Packaging
George Abd is the President and CEO of former Nicolet Capital portfolio company Pretium Packaging based in Chesterfield, MO. He joined Pretium in January of 2008 and led the company during Nicolet Capital’s investment period achieving six consecutive years of EBITDA growth through 2013. During that period the company grew sales from $160 million to $241 million, completed one acquisition in 2010, and consolidated 5 manufacturing facilities.
Prior to joining Pretium, Mr. Abd spent over nine years at Spartech Corporation, a plastic sheet, compounding and packaging material supplier. He served as President and CEO for the final two years and previously ran operating divisions in the company ranging in size from $250 to $550 million in sales. While Mr. Abd was CEO, Spartech increased sales to $1.4 billion, consolidated 11 of its 49 operations, reduced its debt from $464 million to $285 million and achieved record profit and shareholder equity levels.
Prior to working at Spartech, Mr. Abd spent 11 years with Polycom Huntsman Inc. a privately owned plastics compounding business with operations in the U.S. and Europe. During his time there, Polycom grew organically from $32 million to $120 million in sales prior to its sale to Spartech.
